We collect our own trees from many different sources. We cut city trees, invasives and beetle kill. We mill all the wood on our bandsaw sawmill and have very little waste since we try to use every bit of the wood by making large items first and using the waste leftover for cutting boards, rolling pins, utensils and finally, firewood. We work with a lot of underutilized species and it has been a fun process to find what are the best uses for each kind of wood. We sand all of our wood pieces down to a 1500 grit sandpaper and use organic vegetable oil for our smaller pieces and for larger pieces we use a blend of linseed and tung oils.
